Finally unveiled on Thursday night, the next flagship Smartphone of Samsung, Galaxy S4 concealed no surprises, as all the features and specifications were leaked prior to its release. Even then the Galaxy S4 has not failed in being impressive as the much awaited successor of the Samsung Galaxy SIII. Of the both Galaxy SIII and Galaxy S4, S4 is a bit more of features and specifications. With price not yet been revealed, the Galaxy S4 starting from April will be available in 55 countries on various cellular carriers like Verizon, AT & T, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc. This Smartphone will be available in two color variations, namely “Black Mist”, the black color and “White Frost”, the white color.
Talking about the looks, Galaxy S4 with its 5-inch display looks larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy SIII. But this does not lead to an increase in weight and thickness of the phone. On the other hand, the thickness of S4 is 0.31 inches, whereas the Galaxy SIII measures 0.34 inches in thickness. Coming to the weight, the Galaxy S4 weighs 0.1 ounce less the SIII which is 4.7 ounces. The Gorilla Glass 3 covers the 1080p Super HD AMOLED display of S4.
Who doesn’t love to snap the good moments of their life? Having a good resolution camera in the phone itself that you always have along with you is more appealing than regretting for not having the digital camera to capture that lovely moment, right? The S4 with 13MP rear camera and 2MP front camera comes very handy in this scenario. It not only has good resolution and dual camera, but the Galaxy S4 also provided some new features like Drama Shot means overlapping sequential photos and Dual Shot which uses both the front and back cameras. Know what, you also have an eraser feature to erase anything that you do not wish to have in your final photo.
One more amazing feature of this Smartphone is the Samsung Exynos 1.6GHz processor with eight cores. The internal storage capacity has variations of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, with an expandable MicroSD slot for up to 64GB. Let us see the other features. Group Play feature allows the users share media with each other even in the absence of Wi-Fi. Personal fitness can be tracked and estimated using the onboard sensors of S4 and this is the S Health feature. In certain applications, to translate the text or voice, you can use the S Voice Drive. Using Samsung Optical Reader, scanning of business cards and QR codes can be done. Also are other features like Air View to preview the content of certain applications just by hovering with your fingers and the Air Gesture feature to perform certain actions like scrolling, accepting call and changing music track by waving your hand.
There is no need for you to pause manually the video you are watching, since the Smart Pause feature automatically pauses the video when it detects you are not looking the video. You can also scroll the web page or email up and down with your eyes using the same feature.
The other good news here is the Galaxy S4 has not sacrificed its battery life for the sleek design. This Smartphone uses 2600mAh battery compared to the SIII which uses 2100mAh. Impressive selection of sensors like infrared, accelerometer, barometer, gesture, temperature and humidity etc, are included in S4.
With Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 software on board, the Galaxy S4 also has special security feature for separating the work and play and the particular feature is Samsung’s Knox Security.
Galaxy S4 cannot be attributed as an earth-shattering change and is not the device for the people waiting forward for a big step in Smartphone design and technology. Always known as hardware innovator, Samsung with its Galaxy S4 is trying to be a software innovator as well.
